in love with a ghost

I am feeling nostalgic for different points in my life. The thought of autumn does this to me; reminds me of the way things were, and the way things are. The funny breeze in the air tonight gives me hope for the beauty in tomorrow, and reminds me to be grateful for the right now, however uncertain and crooked things may be. Autumn makes me feel new and whole.

Seeds

My newest hobby: my tiny herb garden! As some of you know, the days of one who is unemployed can drag on forever, with only a few job applications to show for it. I got to the point where I needed something to do after those applications that did not involve sitting in front of the television, and something where I could see results (hard work actually accomplishes something!). So far, I really love my little garden. There really is something magical about getting your hands dirty, the scent of moist soil and new flowers, little bees buzzing about you, and the warm springtime sun on your face.

Stick markers // So far I have planted: lemon verbena, chocolate mint, jalapeno, chives, sweet basil, cosmos, english daisies, violets, poppies, and lavender.
